Heath, myself, Millie and Nolan (the neighbor boy) were all at the mall getting me a New Phone for our big move to Chicago. Hungry were we... so we headed to the eatery to get some lunch. Heath took the kids to find a table while I waited on the food. With food in hand I nearly got ran over by the Security Guard on his scooter, he was Yelling, "A Tornado is with in 10 miles and everyone needs to head into JcPenny and take cover." I quickly found Heath and kids and began to tell them what was happening when another Security guard began shuffling us down to JcPenny. The whole mall was closed down within minutes. People were crying, everyone was on there phones, the mall had a crazy feeling about it as the Security guards buzzed around. We went to JcPenny and sat for a bit then decided we did Not want to be across town from the kids who were still in school. So we ventured out in the pouring rain. When we got the kids they were put out by the Tornado... Kade said, "today was so boring we had to climb under our desk and tuck and hide for a whole hour!" WOW! That sounds like fun to me?
Neadless to say we all made it through the Crazy storm and now have a fun tornado story to always remember!

Did you see the tornado as you went to get your family together? Scary. Kade is too funny! When is the BIG move to the freezing mid-west? I want to send you our Christmas card. And, a few others you sent them to here in the ol hood has asked me your address. I have stamps, which I NEVER do, so in addition to mailing that, Risi wants to mail Madi a letter. I am so glad you guys are safe. We have a blizzard - tons of snow here. IT's only pretty to me the first time, and then at Christmas, other than that, I hate it.
Miles had his titanium hearing implants done today, he was amazing. I'll blog about it soon. And, thanks for helping me find and think of some positive things about Tom being gone so much! I love you!
Ya it was realy scary!!! It was black outside and it was SUPER windy, and it was raining and thundering and lightning like crazy!! i got say, i was SCARED to!!
we were at the Avenues mall--we were told to go a department store, but when we got there they closed all the doors. So they sent us into the fire escape/stairwell for an hour. I felt like a bunch of cattle. Luckily Jake slept through most of it and the girls were entertained my a friend that was with me.
AT least you are leaving florida with a bang. You will remember the Great Orange Park mall forever. FUN! Aaron got some excellent photos of the tornado on his cell phone as he was going to work. CRAZY! glad everyone was ok and you have a fun story to share.

After all the practices in your bedroom closet with the chocolate, wouldn't you know it, one would head your way when you were away from home. I would have hated sitting under my desk too Kade. How is the house hunting coming? How is the back, the stomach, the packing???? So many important questions. My heart is wanting to be right by your side, but my constant thoughts and prayers are with you. Kelly you and Heath are amazing!
That really is the wildest story! I'm glad nothing happen though or it would have been so awful. Instead you get a funny story! Much better. Hopefully there will be no more tornadoes in your future!
I just ran across your blog and really enjoy your positive attitude on life!
I am glad you got in a good tornado scare before you left. We wouldn't want you guys feeling left out.:) And we are so glad that you are safe! Wish I was there to load some boxes and scrub some floors with you!
I'm so glad you are all safe! Your kids are so brave! We love you and miss you all!
Awesome! Now you can say you survived a tornadeo just like Dorthy. I'm sure it throws you into panic mode with your kids at school. More excitement in the lives of the Thompsons. I am thinking about you every second. Hang in there!
That is so scary for you guys!! Glad that's over, right? Why are you guys moving to Chicago??I'm assuming job related. Good luck with all that!!
