Several months ago I came across a hutch for sale that I loved... I had Big Plans to making it "Ours" I watched it for a week or so and didn't dare buy it without Heath's approval. So I finally convinced him to come see it with me. He agreed but wasn't impressed with it. So we left empty handed. Another week went by and I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back to see if it was still for sale, to which it was and the price had dropped. I told Heath I really wanted to try to "fix it up" a couple days later we went back. It was still available and the price had dropped again AND right beside it was a table that matched. I was able to get them both for the original price of the hutch! Which was already dirt Cheap! Heath was very supportive and bought the furniture and helped load the car up several times to get it all home.
I set up a Kelly's Workshop and began Creating!
Here's the Before and After Shots.
(I was so excited, I forgot to take a before shot of the table so here is a in between shot.)
It has 2 leafs so it is HUGE and will perfect for friends and family to sit around!
I painted everything a Cream color then Sanded the edges to give it an Antique look...
My favorite part of the project is this Piano.. Heath can play the hymns and we all sit around him and sing. I next step is piano lessons for the kids... (Wish us Luck!)
A week or so ago Heath was out of town and I wanted to get it all finished while he was gone so I headed off to Home Depot, bought the material and began... I took off the doors and added some Wayne's Coat to the back and Love the finished product!
I just noticed it's not Completely Finished I still need to put on the handles and then of course Decorate!
Heath bought me beautiful chairs that match and I think I'm in Heaven...
I really won't care if I don't hear another sander, see or smell paint for a real long long Time!
I LOVE YOU Heath... Thanks for letting me Create! I can in vision lots of Yummy dinners around that table.
Merry Christmas!

GOOD WORK KEL! I absolutely love them all. It is my favorite color and the antiqueing is perfect. I love the legs on the table, and the waynes coat on the back of the cabinet, did you do that yourself? You have more of Jamie in you than I knew. And how did you get lights in it? They are all so beautiful! What would my girls give for a panio? If Santa doesn't make it Chicago then you will still be set. I am very very impressed! I am so glad you got pictures! I hope I get to come see them first hand here soon. Merry CHristmas to the THompson Troop!
Oh Oh Oh My!!! That's what I call Incredible. Kelly you just created a beautiful place for elegant memories. The table is so graceful with the beautiful legs, the hutch has wonderful lines. The light will make everything glow. I can't wait to see it filled with your touch. The piano will be the center of activity at your house. I can hear the kids playing right now. You might have to plug in your music and ear phones occasionally. How did you ever do all that so fast? It was a huge job. I think I might just have to come out again to see it all in person. What satisfaction comes from completing something really hard. Oh I love the Thompsons! Merry Eating and Preforming Christimas!
