Blizzard 2011

We SURVIVED THE BLIZZARD of 2011!
We got 21 Inches of Snow and 60 mph winds with Major Snow Drifts.
It was a job to Dig Out and we had the Perfect Guy to do it!
The kids had the Great Idea to go play in the snow late at night in Swimsuits.
I had my Big bathtub filled up for then to jump into when they were done.

It was an eventful few days No school was the Highlight!
The night the big storm Heath and I went to the Store to get our Normal weekly food. The store was buzzing with people. It took a minute but it hit me they were all stocking up for the BIG Storm! The water on the shelf's were gone, bread was gone, everyone was loading up. It made me thankful for the food supply I have at home for times like these but it also made me think I don't have nearly enough. After shopping we all Hunkered down with a yummy dinner. As we sat down to eat the lights flickered a few times and my stomach turned. We made a big fire and watched the news as all the craziness unfolded. I was still uneasy about what if the power goes out so I got up and started cooking muffins and cookies. I had the flashlights and candles out. Before bed I climbed into the tub wondering how the Pioneers ever made it through such times? We are so Blessed!
It has been a Fun few days and BUT Now I am ready for Summer!

Holy Cow! That is a lot of snow, so glad to see you made the best of it!! You should probably invest in a 4 wheeler with a plow, it has saved us many back aches! I hope you all stay safe and warm and eat lots of those yummy muffins and cookies you baked!!

Kelly that is wild! I love that the kids went in their bathing suits and your enjoyed the fun and took the pics from the other side of the window. I bet that the kids will never forget all that fun! Your house is gorgeous! Poor Heath I bet he was seriously missed Florida though. Crazy that the pioneers did all that with out all the modern luxuries we have. That's a lot of faith! I can not wait to see you tomorrow! I am thrilled!
